Boyfriend Creates Adorable Custom Flipbook to Pop the Question
Talk about a creative proposal! When Rodney Nelson decided he was going to propose to his girlfriend, he wanted to break free from the classic tradition and find a creative way to pop the question. Thanks to Ben Zurawski, also know as The Flippist, they collaborated to create a super cute, custom-made animated flipbook to craft the ultimate proposal.
Alexa Wenning, now Nelson’s fiancée, shared on HowHeAsked.com that the proposal went down at the Lincoln Park ZooLights Festival. “It was absolutely freezing, but he insisted that we bundle up and go anyways,” Wenning explained. “Right in front of the big light display, he turned to me and told me he needed to give me my Christmas present. I remember thinking, ‘Seriously, right now? Are you crazy?’ But he insisted and showed me a flip book.” In the little flipbook, it shows a couple playing fetch with a dog. The dog goes to fetch a ball, however ends up bringing back a small black box. When the flipbook reaches the end, an engagement ring is revealed. “It was perfect because I had to take my gloves off to flip through it and when I got to the end, he pulled out the real ring and asked for my hand,” Wenning wrote. “Of course, I started bawling,” Wenning shared. “I almost got frostbite afterwards because I refused to put my gloves back on!” The Flippist is known for creating custom flipbooks. Some highlights from his flipbooks include a reverse marriage proposal, a Ghostbusters themed birthday card, and some classic sports moments.
