Comedian Seth Meyers Is a First-Time Dad
Comedian Seth Meyers is a first-time father.
The Saturday Night Live star-turned-late night talk show host and his wife Alexi Ashe welcomed a son on Sunday, his representative confirms to People.
The new parents have yet to reveal the name of their new addition, but Meyers is expected to go into more details during his show, Late Night With Seth Meyers, on Tuesday.
Meyers tied the knot with human rights lawyer Ashe in September 2013 after dating for five years.
Since announcing their baby news in November, the funnyman has been asking guests on his show for parenting advice, including mother-of-three Jennifer Garner, who used her appearance on his show earlier this month to reassure Meyers about fatherhood.
Her advice was not to worry about every bit of information found in parenting books or worry about every detail of guidance given by friends, as all parents find looking after a new baby a struggle.
“It’s not up to you dude,” she said. “It doesn’t matter, let it go, don’t worry about it. You’re going to struggle, it’s going to suck, just like for everyone else. Just know in your head, ‘This is all going to go to hell in a hand basket.'”
Garner speaks from experience, she had first child, Violet, 10, with estranged husband Ben Affleck, in 2005. Garner had two more children Seraphina, seven, and Sam, four, with the Argo star before they split in June last year.
