Actress Demi Moore and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son Patrick have been caught up in a voter registry mix-up in California.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the stars are among tens of thousands of state residents who wrongly declared themselves as members of the American Independent Party, a minor conservative organization in California, instead of selecting the box for “no party preference” to indicate their independent political standing.

The report suggests three out of four locals became confused by the use of the word “independent” in the party’s name. Moore, who previously campaigned for Democratic President Barack Obama, is now seeking to amend the mistake ahead of the U.S. presidential primary on June 7. “Demi Moore is not, nor has ever been, a member of the American Independent Party,” her representative told the publication. Meanwhile, actor Patrick Schwarzenegger, whose movie star father previously served as the Republican Governor of California, is also planning to change his registration. Affected residents will have until May 23 to update their political preferences.
