Former GOP Candidate Ben Carson Endorses Front-Runner Donald Trump
Dr. Ben Carson and Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump have gone from bitter rivals to the best of friends. Although they sparred through much of the early primary season before Carson dropped out of the race for president, the retired neurosurgeon endorsed Trump Friday morning during a press conference in Florida. https://youtu.be/EjeM6jnX32M
Speaking at Trump’s private club, Mar-a-lago in Palm Beach, this morning, Carson begged the Republican party to let the “political process play out” without interference. For a while, Carson was the leading Republican in the polls before a steep drop and a failure to pick up many delegates in early primary voting.
With Trump under fire lately from both the Democrats and his own party, Carson came to his defense. “Some people have gotten the impression that Donald Trump is this person who is not malleable, who does not have the ability to listen, and to take information in and make wise decisions. And that’s not true,” Carson said. “He’s much more cerebral than that.” Trump in turn said he definitely has a big place for Carson in is campaign.
I endorse @realDonaldTrump. It’s time to unite behind the candidate who will beat Hillary Clinton and return government to, "We the People"— Ben & Candy Carson (@RealBenCarson) March 11, 2016
Carson is the second Republican drop-out to endorse Trump. Two weeks ago, Governor Chris Christie surprised many by endorsing Trump, someone he seemed to despise throughout much of his campaign. It remains to be seen whether Trump will grab the Republican nomination, but we’re hard pressed to see Marco “Little Marco” Rubio or Ted “Lying Ted” Cruz endorsing Trump under any circumstances. Only time and the delegate count will tell.
Dr. Ben Carson- I concur."I believe in God who can change people- he can make any of us better."@RealBenCarson — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 11, 2016
