Hillary Scott Revealed She Had a Miscarriage
Hillary Scott fought back tears as she chatted about her new music on Monday, because some of the tracks were inspired by a miscarriage she suffered.
The Lady Antebellum star reveals she went through the heartbreaking experience last autumn.
“This is something that is still not talked about very often,” she told Good Morning America. “I also feel like there’s this pressure that you’re just supposed to be able to snap your fingers and continue to walk through life like it never happened.”
Scott is preparing to release an album of gospel hymns next month and she penned the first song, “Thy Will,” in the middle of her painful ordeal.
“I wrote the song in the middle of experiencing everything that comes with a miscarriage,” she says, “so it was my most raw place that I could’ve ever been when this song truly poured out of me.”
Scott admits the miscarriage has made her truly cherish the time she has with her daughter, two-year-old Eisele Kaye Tyrrell.
“I’m a different mom to her now,” she continues. “I hug her a lot tighter.”
And she now feels she is ready to start making music with the country group again. The band embarked on a hiatus last year to focus on their families and solo careers.
“After going through everything that I’ve gone through in the past year, but also just the process of making this record, I know I’m coming back into the mindset of Lady Antebellum,” she adds.
Lady Antebellum released their last album, 747, in 2014.
