Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is $22 million richer after selling off 17 exotic cars from his personal collection.

The Seinfeld star sold 15 Porsches and two Volkswagens up for sale through Gooding & Co.’s auction house on Amelia Island, Florida on Friday.

During the auction, Seinfeld told the crowd of bidders he isn’t treating the sale lightly since he has a special relationship with all the cars, but just doesn’t have the time to carefully take care of each of them anymore.

“Each one of these cars is a pinnacle of mechanical culture to me,” Seinfeld said. “Many are the best examples that exist in the world. I’ve loved being entrusted with their care, and Iā€™m proud of the level to which we have brought each and every one of these wonderful machines.

“Honestly, if I had unlimited time, space and attention span I would never sell one of them. And the reason I wanted to bid these cars farewell in this way is really just to see the look of excitement on the faces of the next owners who I know will be out of their minds with joy that they are going to get to experience them. My enthusiasm for this pursuit remains quite insane and I am very fortunate to have many other cars I get to look after.”

The 17 cars brought in a total of $22,244,500, with the most expensive bid for a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder (above), which went for $5.3 million.

Seinfeld only had one car leftover that didn’t go home to a new owner – a non-drivable Porsche Carrera GT concept car (above), only one of two in the world. It was slated to go for $1.5 million, but didn’t make the minimum.

The funnyman is known for his love of exotic vehicles, most prominently seen in his popular webseries, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

On the show, Seinfeld picks out classic cars specifically for his celebrity guest on each episode.

Over the course of the past seven seasons, the star has driven around the likes of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Amy Schumer, Jim Carrey, David Letterman, Chris Rock, and President Barack Obama.
