Justin Timberlake Joins Woody Allen’s Film
Justin Timberlake is returning to the big screen in filmmaker Woody Allen’s new movie. The “Suit and Tie” singer will join Kate Winslet, James Belushi and Juno Temple in the film, which is set to begin shooting in New York City this autumn.
The veteran director is known for keeping the details about his ongoing movies under wraps and this one is no different. The as-yet-untitled film has simply been described as a period drama set in the late 1950s. The latest casting news comes two months after Ronan Farrow, Allen’s estranged son with ex-partner Mia Farrow, blasted Hollywood celebrities who continue to work with his dad, despite family allegations suggesting he molested his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, when she was a child. After Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively, Steve Carell, and Jesse Eisenberg joined the filmmaker for the premiere of his latest release, Cafe Society, at the Cannes Film Festival in May, Farrow told The Hollywood Reporter, “They can trust that the press won’t ask them the tough questions. It’s not the time, it’s not the place, it’s just not done.” “That kind of silence isn’t just wrong. It’s dangerous. It sends a message to victims that it’s not worth the anguish of coming forward. It sends a message about who we are as a society, what we’ll overlook, who we’ll ignore, who matters and who doesn’t.” “Actors, including some I admire greatly, continue to line up to star in his movies,” he added. “It hurts my sister every time one of her heroes, like Louis C.K., or a star her age, like Miley Cyrus, works with Woody Allen.” The moviemaker has never been charged with any related crime and has always maintained his innocence.
