Firefighters Save Labrador Puppy After He Was Caught in a House Fire
Animals| | By Dancy Mason
Buster is a sweet, 16-week-old black Labrador puppy. We always want our puppies to be happy and carefree, but Buster recently found himself in a dangerous situation. On Sept. 18, firefights in Birmingham, England arrived at the scene of a blazing kitchen fire. When their trucks pulled up, they found that the humans had escaped, but the family’s new puppy was trapped inside the home. Two U.K. firefighters went into the blaze to find Buster. By the time they did, the little pup had fallen unconscious from smoke inhalation. They carried him out of the house, put him down on the grass, and immediately began to use their newly-installed animal respiration equipment from the back of their trucks.
In one of the videos that the Billesley Community Fire Station posted to its Twitter page, Buster doesn’t immediately respond to the equipment. His eyes are open, but he isn’t moving and seems to be going in and out of consciousness. For a few tense moments firefighters continue to treat the pup, making sure to give him lots of comfort as they do. Firefighters always seem to save the day.— BillesleyFire (@BillesleyFire) 18 September 2017
