Madonna and Guy Ritchie Meet for Custody Talks
Madonna and Guy Ritchie met up in London to reportedly work towards a custody agreement over their son Rocco on Wednesday.
The former couple have been embroiled in a legal battle to decide whether Rocco, 15, should live in London with director Ritchie or in New York with Madonna, and judges in both cities urged the parents to come to an agreement out of court.
The “Material Girl” singer jetted into London at the start of April and Ritchie was spotted dropping Rocco off at her home a few days later. The teenager left smiling after two hours and they reunited once more for a cinema date to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on Monday.
It now appears Madonna and Ritchie are trying to build bridges themselves. The 47-year-old director was pictured arriving at Madonna’s London home on his bicycle in a white tracksuit on Wednesday evening, emerging “some time” later, according to MailOnline.
Rocco Ritchie was also snapped entering the house that evening and leaving Thursday morning after spending the night. In the pictures, Ritchie seems in high spirits as he walks away clutching his skateboard.
The custody case was closed in London in March so it could be pursued solely in New York. High Court Judge Justice MacDonald urged the former couple to find an amicable solution before they miss out on the rest of his childhood.
“Summer does not last forever. The boy very quickly becomes the man. It would be a very great tragedy for Rocco if any more of the precious and fast receding days of his childhood were to be taken up by this dispute,” he said.
“Far better for each of his parents to spend that time enjoying, in turn, the company of the mature, articulate, and reflective young man who is their son and who is a very great credit to them both.”
Ritichie refused to return to New York after visiting his dad in December.
