Madonna Keen for Peace Talks With Guy Ritchie
The pair have been at odds for four months during the battle over their 15-year-old son who is set on staying in London to live with his 47-year-old father. Now Madonna has requested the sit down, the source tells Us Weekly: “There will be no lawyers.” But despite the singer’s keenness to move things along, it seems that Ritchie still isn’t on the same page. “Madonna is pushing to resolve things, but Guy recently disappeared to the Maldives with Rocco,” adds the insider. “He isn’t resolving anything now.” Rocco would reportedly prefer to be with his more “lenient” father rather than return to his surprisingly strict mother. The teenager left Madonna while she was on her Rebel Heart tour in December last year in order to visit his father but then refused to return home for the holidays. Madonna has been vocal in her desire for her son to return to New York often using Instagram to convey emotional messages, however, the source claims Rocco feels “she is more concerned with proving Guy wrong” and less concerned with what he actually wants. The location and date of the meeting have yet to be decided but Madonna is keen to make progress ahead of their scheduled June 1 court date. Madonna has had custody of Rocco since the couple split in 2008. The pair are also parents to adopted son David, 10, who attended Ritchie’s wedding last August. The pop star also has daughters Lourdes, 19, and Mercy, 10, who was also adopted. Ritchie has another three children with second wife Jacqui Ainsley.
