Russell Crowe Salutes John Belushi on ‘Saturday Night Live’
Russell Crowe dedicated his Saturday Night Live guest hosting stint to late comedian John Belushi. The Oscar winner poked fun at himself and his The Nice Guys co-star Ryan Gosling, who he called “a beautiful young woman,” on the weekend sketch show, and showed off his comedy skills by portraying the leery ghost of King Henry VIII and a German sex professor, among other crazy characters.
The Gladiator star signed off by thanking the show’s regular cast and musical guest Margo Price, and then held up the peace sign and said, “God bless the ghost of John Belushi, I still think about you, man.” Belushi, who remains one of Saturday Night Live‘s most beloved stars, died following a drug overdose in 1982 at the age of 33.
