Social Media Campaign Calls For Captain America to Have a Boyfriend
Entertainment| | By Lauren Boudreau
In the wake of the epic Twitter campaign and viral hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend, a new campaign has emerged, this time calling on Marvel executives to #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend.
With the representation of marginalized groups being next to nothing in large blockbuster films, fans want to see more inclusiveness, and, let’s face it, the Cap and Bucky are a love story in the making.

Some people feel that a queer Captain America just isn’t in his character, but others feel that it’s more about visibility and having a superhero for the LGBT community to look up to.
There’s no word yet on what Chris Evans thinks of this new direction for his character, but if it’s anything like Idina Menzel’s approval for a Elsa having a girlfriend, there is hope gender fluidity may be represented on the big screen in the near future.
In a world of aliens, gods and superheroes, Steve having a boyfriend is the one that's unrealistic. Ok. #GiveCaptainAmericaABoyfriend
